Richard Rides Rossendale Hilly TT

Richard Cary was the sole Southport CC representative in this early-season event. A beautiful backdrop to this demanding little circuit in Bowland - lots of climbing, descending, twists and turns, and on the day a nagging westerly wind and cool temperatures to contend with. Difficult to guage, but I felt I had a decent enough ride - beaten by those I felt probably would beat me ('cos they're always much quicker) , and there or thereabouts amongst a reasonable pack of seasoned racers - 30:31 on the day, compared to the winning time of 23:55 by young professional, Richard Handley. Next outing, the Circuit of Pendle - would be good to see some more Southport riders on these early season classics...
